Lauttasaaren Kirkko

January 2022 marks a grand milestone for us at Styjl, as the first ever installation of our new Styjl Straight Up acoustic plaster ceiling was completed.
The client who trusted us as well as our installer, was the congregation of Lauttasaaren Kirkko in Helsinki. They did an extensive renovation of assembly halls, kitchens, their gymnasium hall and much more. Most of the church building has also been renovated with a new concrete foundation, new walls, and ceilings. And you can find our Styjl Straight Up system in the assembly halls.

This grand building was designed by the late architect Keijo Petäjän in 1953. This was after a competition was announced to architects around Helsinki. And in December of 1958 the entire church building was completed. The inauguration even had visits from bishop Eelis Gulin and late president Urho Kekkonen.

After the opening in the spring of 2022, Lauttasaaren Kirkko will house one Swedish and one Finnish congregation, a daycare center, and various societies.

It is a tremendous honor to be a part of this historic church. Not to mention the fantastic work done by our Finnish installer NL Trade on their first Styjl Straight Up installation.
